Gülçin Santırcıoğlu was born on July 25, 1977, in İzmir, Turkey. She studied at Dokuz Eylül University State Conservatory in the Department of Performing Arts, Opera and Vocal Studies. Santırcıoğlu initially pursued music, performing as a vocalist in various bands and serving as a singing instructor at the Ruhi Su Culture and Art Foundation.

She began her acting career in 2005 with the critically acclaimed film Derivative (Türev) directed by Ulaş İnaç, which won Best Film at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. For her performance in Türev, she received the "Promising Actress" award from the Contemporary Cinema Actors Association (ÇASOD). In 2007, she portrayed the character Gül in Semih Kaplanoğlu's internationally celebrated film Egg (Yumurta), the first installment of Kaplanoğlu’s acclaimed "Yusuf Trilogy." Santırcıoğlu further gained international attention for her role in Two Lines (İki Çizgi) (2008), directed by Selim Evci, screened at numerous festivals, including the 65th Venice International Film Festival and the 45th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival.

​Santırcıoğlu is also known for her notable television roles, most prominently as Hatice in the historical drama Farewell Rumelia (Elveda Rumeli) (2007–2009). She continued her success in television with series such as Black Bread (Kara Ekmek) (2015–2016), Oyunbozan (2016), and Nefes Nefese (2018). More recently, she portrayed Sultan Aslanbey in the popular series Hercai (2019–2020) and appeared in Netflix productions including Stuck Apart (Azizler) (2021) and Man on Pause (Andropoz) (2022). She also starred as İfakat Korhan in the successful drama series Golden Boy (Yalı Çapkını) (2022–2024).

In addition to acting, Santırcıoğlu has maintained her connection to music. In 2012, she performed the song "Ala Gözlerini Sevdiğim Dilber" with the band Badem on their album "Badem ve Konukları." In 2013, she served as a jury member at the Rotterdam Golden Tulip Film Festival.

Gülçin Santırcıoğlu continues to actively participate in film and television, earning recognition as one of Turkey’s most versatile and respected performers.
